Cape Ann Maritime Partnership

Who we are

Over the winter we came together with a few local organizations in an effort to combat marine pollution in Gloucester harbor. This partnership consist of the US Coast Guard, Maritime Gloucester, Gloucester's Clean City Commission, and our company One Ocean One Love Shop. Plus having the amazing fiscal sponsers of Seaside Sustainabilty.  We all started this organization in hopes of raising money to purchase, install, and maintain two different marine debris collectors in Gloucester Harbor: The Seabin and the Marine Skimmer. Our ultimate goal is to collect pollution in the harbor, collect data, and educate the local community. From there we can address the most common pollutants in our harbor. We hope that over time we will be able to purchase more than two debris collectors and place them all around Cape Ann!

We put our time, effort, and resources together and made a plan how to make this goal a reality.

First goal: Fund raise!

On Thursday May 4th  we hosted a Clean Harbor Fundraiser event at Mile Marker One! Their Bridge Deck Bar is the perfect venue location for any event, sitting right along the river over looking the harbor. They also generously donated 10% of all food and drinks purchased during our event! A special thank you goes out to Tobin Dominick, the owner of the Cape Ann Marina, who helped make this event happen!

The event was a huge success thanks to the many local business who donated items for our raffle. We had prizes ranging from $50 to $250 which included clothing, art, tickets, gift cards, and gift baskets! We were also lucky enough to have the awesome reggae band Pier Ave donate their time for the event!  In the end we raised over $1500 dollars in three hours thanks to all the generous contributions. We are now one step closer toward our $15,000 goal.

Stay tuned for more upcoming events!
